The 1st-Ever ICE Course Is Now Open For Registration!
**Please note, all students in ICE must also complete Exercise Theory and have a current 1st Aid & CPR certificate before this certification will be issued.**
The ICE Certification Course will give you the knowledge and skills you need to conduct a highly motivated and technically correct cycling class. Your 10 hour course will include an Intro to Cycling which covers bike safety and bike setup, tips on how to dress and remain comfortable while participating in a cycling class. The chapter on Cycling Basics will include body positions, bio-mechanical and alignment considerations, pedal stroke efficiency and intensity. And finally, Physiology and Class Design covers class breakdown, training principals, cycling physiology, training zones, sample class designs paired with music, and leadership.
Dates: October 27th and 28th, 2018
Times: 10:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday. 10:00am to 1:00pm on Sunday
Location: Purdy's Wharf Fitness Centre (Ground floor, Tower 2), Halifax
Instructor(s): Bill Norton
Exams: A written and practical exam are required to complete this course. All NSFA written exams will be done at the end of January 2019 (date to be confirmed) in Halifax at Mount St. Vincent University. If you cannot write at that time a private exam proctor can be arranged for you. Practicals will be arranged between the student and the course conductor.
