Topic: Removing Barriers to Physical Fitness: Pelvic Floor Health-- Navigating Incontinence with Confidence!
Do you struggle to find ways to support clients with leakage? Are you unsure of how to make them feel more comfortable in classes when they have pelvic floor issues? Do you want to know more about what to do to make fitness accessible for people with urinary incontinence?
Learn about the anatomy of the pelvic floor, and how it functions to better understand causes of incontinence. We will discuss some interesting statistics and dispel some common myths. Through discussion and collaboration, we will identify what exercises might work better, and some that may be more challenging and need modifications. Finally, we will chat about other options to help people feel more confident with exercise when they can't completely trust their bladder just yet.
This is an issue more common then you may think! Nearly 50% of women and 30% of men will have incontinence issues in their lifetime, many under the age of 50!
