Exercise Theory (ET)
Learn the technical knowledge required for all NSFA/FLC teaching certificates.
This is the pre-requisite module in the Nova Scotia Fitness Association’s (NSFA) Certification Program. This course covers the Anatomy, Exercise Physiology, Bio-mechanics, Nutrition, Safety and Legal Liability required to successfully complete the course work, and to work in the exercise industry with one of our specialization certificates.

Add a Fitness Theory Textbook: Fee:$299 ***Please fill in your full mailing address if you're outside of the Halifax area so we can mail your manuals to you.
Payment: Payment must be received before the course begins.

Exams: Exam Day will be June 22, 2024. If you cannot attend the exam day, a 1-on-1 session with an exam proctor can be booked after your course is finished.
If a proctor is not available in your area, their are online exam options through other provincial organizations (an exam fee may apply). NSFA will have an online exam option coming in the fall.
Please note:
- For the option including a manual, registration closes 10 days before the course begins to allow time for shipping text books
- This course is 3 days, live via ZOOM (these are recorded so they can be watched later).
- The exam day will be held in the HRM area and is optional. Other arrangements for writing the exam can be made via proctor if required.
- This course is required for the completion of all fitness teaching certificates. It is not a certificate to teach by itself.
Note: We require a minimum of 5 registrants to run the course. Registrants will be notified in the event we do not have enough people registered to run the course, and your money will be refunded.
