Personal Trainer Course
Expand on your previous certifications & learn advanced teaching & assessment techniques.
*Please note: Anyone attending in-person courses will be required to show proof of vaccination on site*
Limited seating - 8 participants only, registration must be received and paid in full no later than December 2nd, 2021 to secure your spot!
PLEASE NOTE: This course will run over ten weeks on Friday evenings via Zoom, PLUS an in-person, 2-day session in the Halifax area.
Dates: Friday evenings on Zoom from 6:00 to 8:00pm
Online Class dates:
January 7, 14, 21, 28
February 4, 11, 18, 25
In-person class dates: March 5th & 6th (9am - 3pm each day). The location has yet to be confirmed but it will be in the Halifax/Dartmouth area.
Written & Practical exam: You will be required to find a client & a gyms space for your practical exam - we will not arrange this for you. If you cannot do the written exam with the class you can book a separate date. Both exams can be booked by emailing email@example.com.
Pre-requisites: You must be currently certified in good standing in at least one of the following:
- NFLA Resistance Trainer
- NFLA Group Exercise Leader
- NFLA Older Adult Leader
* Anyone applying with non-NFLA certifications must complete a PLAR. Please email Susan (firstname.lastname@example.org) to book that.
You will also be required to provide proof of 20 hours of “on floor” experience. This form will be provided to you and must be completed prior to the start of the course.
At the end of the personal trainer’s course you will be required to write a written exam and have a practical exam. In addition, for final course evaluation you must present 10 written programs in a log format to show diversity in your skill set. You will have six months after the completion of the course to complete the log. You will NOT receive your Personal Trainer certificate until the log is completed.
Once you have signed up and paid for the course, you will be sent the course package, which will include : The at-home study package, the supervisor’s form, and The Personal Trainer’s log book.
